Harry H. Corbett

Harry H. Corbett, OBE (28 February 1925 – 21 March 1982) was an English actor and comedian, who co-starred in the long-running BBC television sitcom Steptoe and Son alongside Wilfrid Brambell, which was broadcast from 1962–65 and 1970–74. Harry Corbett was born in Rangoon, Burma where his father was serving in the British Army. Harry was just 18 months old when his mother died and he was sent back to Britain to live with relatives. Corbett served during the World War II with the Royal Marines. He then began acting with Joan Littlewood’s Theatre Workshop in London.

Children and young people in social care, and those who have left, are often subject to stigmatisation and discrimination. Being stigmatised and discriminated against can impact negatively on mental health and wellbeing not only during the care experience but often for many years after too. The project aims to contribute towards changing community attitudes towards care experienced people as a group.
