Kleo is set just after the fall of the Berlin Wall as Kleo Straub (Jella Haase) the former GDR Stasi agent sets out to avenge the people who betrayed her.

A highly skilled assassin, Kleo eventually finds out that the man she grew up with, her grandfather, is pivotal both to her becoming a Stasi agent and to her being imprisoned by the GDR.
