Lady Killers with Lucy Worsley

BBC Sounds

2022

In this series, English historian Lucy Worsley investigates (with the help of others) some extraordinary crimes committed by Victorian era women.

In Episode 6: Amelia Dyer, Worsley explores the story of a 'baby farmer', a woman who took in hundreds of babies to 'help out' those who couldn't keep their 'illiegimate' offspring - for a fee - and then killed them.

Children and young people in social care, and those who have left, are often subject to stigmatisation and discrimination. Being stigmatised and discriminated against can impact negatively on mental health and wellbeing not only during the care experience but often for many years after too. The project aims to contribute towards changing community attitudes towards care experienced people as a group.
