Australian born artist, Rachael Romero, was in one of the infamous convent-run Magdalene laundries for 9 months as a teenager in Adelaide, South Australia. After two years at the South Australian School of Art, she raised the funds to leave Australia and travel around Europe and on to the United States. She has lived in New York for many years, practicing and teaching art. She holds a double Masters from Antioch University.
