The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

2008

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is a 2008 film loosely based on a 1922 short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The film tells the story of a man (Brad Pitt) who is born as an 88 year old and immediately abandoned to a nursing home by his distressed father. Benjamin Button then ages in reverse, watching everyone else get older as he gets younger.

Children and young people in social care, and those who have left, are often subject to stigmatisation and discrimination. Being stigmatised and discriminated against can impact negatively on mental health and wellbeing not only during the care experience but often for many years after too. The project aims to contribute towards changing community attitudes towards care experienced people as a group.
